Dr. Deirdre Cohen, MD, is a highly regarded medical oncologist and clinical leader specializing in gastrointestinal cancers. She currently serves as Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the Gastrointestinal (GI) Oncology Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Cohen earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, and pursued fellowship training in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Mount Sinai. Board-certified in Medical Oncology, she delivers individualized care to patients with colorectal, pancreatic, liver, and other GI malignancies across the Mount Sinai Health System, offering both in-person and telemedicine consultations.
A strong advocate for translational research, Dr. Cohen focuses on integrating molecular and genomic insights into personalized cancer therapies. Her clinical investigations include studies in immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and novel drug combinations for advanced gastrointestinal tumors. She is actively involved in designing and leading early-phase and investigator-initiated trials aimed at improving survival and quality of life for patients with hard-to-treat cancers.
